On Sunday, September 28th, the mats at BETA Academy were alive with energy, determination, and community spirit as students came together for our highly anticipated In-House No-Gi Tournament. From the youngest competitors to the most seasoned practitioners, everyone showed up ready to test their skills, challenge themselves, and support one another.
Kids Division: Future Champions Shine
The event kicked off with our kids divisions, and they absolutely set the tone for the day. It was inspiring to see our young athletes step onto the mats with courage, discipline, and sportsmanship. Each match was a showcase of the hard work and dedication they’ve put into their training. Congratulations to all of our kids who competed — and a special shout-out to those who earned promotions following their performances. Your growth as martial artists is something to be proud of!
Adult White & Blue Belts: Skills on Full Display
Next up, our adult white belt and blue belt divisions brought the intensity to a new level. These matches were packed with exciting scrambles, slick submissions, and non-stop action. Competitors showed tremendous progress, applying techniques they’ve honed on the mats and demonstrating the spirit of perseverance that defines the BETA community.
First-Ever Purple Belt Gi Division
For the first time ever, our tournament featured a Purple Belt division in the Gi, and it did not disappoint. The technique, timing, and strategy on display were a testament to the high level of training and dedication of our advanced students. These matches were an incredible opportunity for everyone to witness the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu performed at a high level — and they brought the crowd to their feet.
Celebrating Hard Work & Achievement
We want to extend a huge congratulations to everyone who stepped on the mats. Whether you won a medal, gained valuable competition experience, or pushed yourself outside your comfort zone — you’re a winner in our eyes. And a special congratulations to all those who made the podium and to our newly promoted kids — your achievements reflect your dedication and passion for Jiu-Jitsu.
Events like this remind us why we train: to grow, to challenge ourselves, and to be part of something bigger than ourselves. Thank you to all the competitors, coaches, referees, staff, and supporters who made this event a success.
We’re already looking forward to the next tournament — see you on the mats! 🥋🔥
